A few weeks ago I wrote an article about Liam and how I was in awe of his strength and courage, but now I’m writing this one due to multiple concerns I have over his mental health and well being. As I stated before all opinions are my own and I have no affiliation with anyone else. 

Liam, as we all know hasn’t had the easiest few years. After the podcast he was publicly ridiculed, bullied and harassed online. The harassment got so bad that Liam admits he was in an incredibly bad place mentally and had fallen off the wagon in the most dramatic fashion, but this article isn’t going to go over the hate or what hoops people go through to justify hating on Liam. 

‘Free Liam’ has been trended by fans in recent weeks after comments Liam made on his snapchat caught the attention of fans. I’m not going to discuss sexuality in this article, however I will admit that I believe Kate Cassidy to be a stunt girlfriend. I’ll leave you to decide whether that's because she’s been brought in to cover up his sexuality or to clean up his public image. 

Liam met Kate within days of being out of rehab and they embarked on their romance, or so his team would like to sell to the public, however one of the first cardinal rules of post addiction rehab is to refrain from entering into new relationships for at least a year after rehab so if he really had embarked on a new relationship he’d be at risk of falling back off the wagon again. 

Further, Kate has never been supportive of Liam’s journey to sobriety as she has often gone out on nights out with Liam to clubs, drinking shots and other things while her supposed partner is trying to stay sober. We, as fans, all worry about Liam and many fans have noticed how early on in the ‘relationship’ the couple were out constantly and Liam looked miserable the entire time. 

Another aspect of Liam and Kate’s ‘relationship’ which had many of Liam’s fans up in arms was while Liam was still recovering from a hospitalisation with a kidney infection, looking drained, thin, and drawn, Kate and his team organised a trip to Italy and had Liam parading around while he was clearly in pain, so much so he ended up in hospital again. 

There was no word on how he was from official channels so fans of the singer flooded Kate’s Tiktoks and Instagram posts to ask how Liam was. Kate appeared indifferent to Liam’s pain and  suffering. She also appeared more concerned with her outfit choices than her supposed love which speaks volumes about her character. 

Over the last few months Liam released a new single - ‘Teardrops,’ which is an incredibly beautiful ballad and was poised to release his new album and a documentary, both have which have been postponed. Liam has taken part in Building The Band which is a Netflix  show with Nicole Scherzinger, AJ  Mclean (of the Backstreet Boys) and Kelly Rowland which is a really positive career move, but fans are questioning why his album isn’t forthcoming, when according to Liam himself, it’s almost ready. Why wasn’t Teardrops followed up with another single? What’s going on behind the scenes? Why is Liam not being allowed to release music when he’s an incredibly talented singer and songwriter? 

Liam also got a large amount of hate when a comment he made on Kate’s TikTok went viral about how she was covered up for once and while Kate cleared it up over 24 hours later she laughed the whole time, as though Liam getting hate online again was something funny. It’s horrific how little she cared about what was happening to her supposed other half and she turned the video into a fashion show when it was supposed to be about clearing up Liam’s name, but obviously what she was wearing was more important that Liam getting an incredible amount of hate online.

Over the past few weeks fans noticed an upkick of Liam’s snapchat content, but the content has done little to relieve fans anxieties over Liam and his mental health as he seems miserable, down and so over everything that it’s extremely concerning. The use of Liam’s Snapchat seems to be more to promote his relationship than his career as a singer and he seems to be being marketed as an influencer when he’s an incredibly talented artist which is baffling because he doesn’t need this kind of promotion to sell his music. 

He’s also stated during a snapchat that he was doing stunts and that stunts are dangerous, that he’s not allowed to do what he wants and must comply with Kate’s wishes and that he’s not enjoying the holiday and wants his mum. Liam has stated he wants to hide out in his room and not go out in public while on an apparently romantic holiday with Kate. 

The fact that Liam has stated that it’s a stunt three times has fans worried and he appears to be so far from happy that all fans are concerned about his wellbeing. Why is he being forced to do stunts? Why doesn’t he have control over his actions? Why are his team forcing him to act like an influencer and stopping his music from being released? 

These are questions that need answering and it’s up to his fans to keep fighting, to continue to share content showing the abuse Liam suffers and to try to bring to attention the control of Liam that Kate apparently has. If I was with someone who was as miserable being with me as Liam is with Kate then I’d be asking myself some very serious questions about the veracity of our relationship. 

We all hope Liam sees the efforts of fans and more media platforms pick up on the plight Liam is going through. Please stay strong Liam and know that we are here for you, we have your back and we see you. 

We can only pray that this stunt ends soon and Liam gets to move ahead as a musician and gains freedom from the stunt that’s weighing him down like an anchor.
