Tragically Gone too Soon

Broken Hearts and Questions Galore

It’s been almost two weeks since the tragic passing of Liam Payne. Anyone who’s followed us, read any of our articles and knows who we are, knows how much we’ve fought for Liam and for people to respect him. We’ve tried and failed to protect Liam, but we won’t stand down, or shut up about the mountains of questions we have around his death and his last few months.

There is a lot of information around Liam’s death on the internet, but at the moment everything is mere speculation and none of the answers available make sense. Many fans and people from the general public can see this and are consistently raising questions about Liam’s death on Twitter (X) and on Tiktok and while we can’t know what investigations are taking place we can draw attention the fact that the details shared don’t add up.

Liam was a loving, kind person and someone who, I feel, saw the best in everyone he encountered. He was sweet to fans, sharing time, even when he had little to share, loving loudly and proudly and always honest. He shared his struggles with addiction to alcohol openly and spoke at length during the Diary of A CEO interview about what had led him to develop an alcohol addiction.

Liam’s battle with alcohol started during his time in One Direction; he stated that the best way to contain the boys was to lock them, night after night for months on end, in hotel rooms. They barely got to see the countries they visited and the loneliness and separation from home must have destroyed them. Not only that but the constant pressure put on Liam by Syco, Sony and Modest management to get the boys to toe their lines also added to his struggle.

Liam fought hard against his battle, and in 2022 needed rehab once more after falling off the wagon, but while explaining this, I want to emphasise that no one knows or understands the battles that all of One Direction faced while they exploded in a way never seen before. And all of this occurred during a time when Social Media platforms had taken off, meaning the boys were more contactable and easier to reach than ever.

However, I’m not here right now to discuss Liam’s past history or his struggles, but to explore my reasons behind why I believe his death was a set up: the inconsistencies of the stories, the fact that someone sold a picture of his body to a news outlet within half an hour of his death and the fact that the hotel has told so many fabricated versions of events that fans are reeling both over the tragedy and the misinformation out there.

First of all I want to discuss the various versions of events of Liam’s last day. The hotel reception manager claimed during his 911 call that when Liam was conscious he was in a fit of rage and was destroying the property, which begs the question why hadn’t they called for aid earlier, and why was he at times unconscious. Then there was the rumour that he collapsed inside the lobby and was convusling but was escorted back to his room and left alone. Does that not strike anyone as odd, that a guest, let alone a guest with the public nature of Liam, was left alone while seizing in a hotel room, rather than kept in a lobby while an ambulance was called? Further, the eye witness Brett Watson, claimed he had multiple encounters with Liam and Liam was escorted frequently back to his room, which begs the question why? Why would a hotel continue to escort a person why is aggressive and destructive back to hotel room where they would continue to cause more damage? Wouldn’t they be asked to leave?

Another inconsistency is the fan who spoke to Liam at around four thirty-five pm who stated that Liam was fine, angry about something but who spoke to her and was coming back down to see her friend as she had a gift for him. If Liam was planning on coming back to the lobby then he wouldn’t have had any plans to end his life, would he?

Further to that, there have been claims that Liam fainted into the elevator, but in the picture he was standing upright and this is odd, since in my experience if someone faints, you don’t take them to their room, but call medical aid for them.

Another set of questions I have is around the fact that Liam was in Argentina for such a prolonged period? Why was he there? Surely if he needed his visa extended then it would have been the perfect opportunity for him to come home and see his family. Weeks before, fans watched Liam on snapchat ask for help and tell through his videos that he wanted his mum, so why didn’t he just come home instead of staying in a foreign country to await his visa application going through?

Further to that, why did Liam state on the morning he was leaving for Argentina that he had to go there? Why did he have to go there? Was he being forced to go there by person or persons around him? And why see Niall there? Why didn’t he see Niall in August when Niall was touring the UK? Wouldn’t that have made more sense?

Another angle we have to explore is whether Liam was trafficked against his will to Argentina with a trip to see his former bandmate and friend used as a way to keep him compliant. When he had his passport, Liam seemed almost childlike in his excitement to have a hold of his own  passport and it begs the question why? Why was a worldwide celebrity excited to have a hold of his passport? Was it because he rarely had it and was hopeful that he’d get to go home after Argentina?

Another massive question that needs answering is where is Roger Nores? Roger Nores is an Argentinian business man, so why was he around a pop sensation for the past six months? Why was he suddenly with Liam all the time? Why are there rumours going around that when anyone called to speak to Liam, they had to speak to Roger first? Why is there a tie between Roger Nores, his brother Nacho and Maya Henry’s family? Why was the last known person to see Liam alive not immediately detained and questioned?

Maya Henry is a former public fiancée of  Liam’s and wrote a fictional book that detailed abuse by her popstar boyfriend. Maya claimed at first the story wasn’t about Liam, but later changed her narrative and said it was. She further claimed that she didn’t have the imagination to make a story like that up, while studying creative writing at New York Universtiy. There’s a conundrum I’ll leave you to unpack, but in this story there was actually a scene in Argentina and the main protagonist of the story, Oliver, threatens to jump from a balcony. Doesn’t that seem suspicious to anyone, that this book was released in May and Liam’s life ended in October by him falling from a balcony to his death?

Further after the fall items were moved which means that someone was on the scene moving furniture around and Liam was found with his hat and his bag and a bottle of whisky that didn’t break despite falling 45 feet. It is claimed that Liam fainted from the balcony and fell over the railing, but the balcony is above waist height, so how does one do that? If  you faint against an object you wouldn’t fall over it, but fall to the side. Correct me if I’m wrong here, but I just can’t conceivably see how you can fall backwards off a balcony if you’re unconscious.

Yet another baffling thing about this that to me screams ‘set up’, is how quickly the images from the room reached the internet - in fact within forty minutes of Liam’s death, I’d already come across the pictures of the room. How did those pictures get out so fast, and why did the hotel claim they had no access to the room, yet managed to take and leak those pictures to the net?

Another thing that’s plaguing my mind is why Kate left Liam alone. An article was released which claimed that she felt trapped in Argentina, was worried about Liam’s sobriety if she stayed with him, yet she still left him there and made sure to post her flight to Tiktok - convenient, huh? Liam had told fans through his snapchat videos that Kate was a stunt girlfriend and that he often didn’t want to do things, yet Kate made him, so it’s suspicious to me how she claimed to love him, yet left him alone in strange country.

One more thing that makes me incredibly suspicious of the hotel was the comment made during the 911 call about the balcony. Why was the caller worried about the balcony? If Liam had been taking drugs and was destructive and aggressive then surely the hotel would have been worried about staff safety or the safety of such a high profile client in case he overdosed on their property, so making the comment about the balcony seems odd and extremely out of place, considering that is in fact how Liam’s death occurred.

Liam was applying to extend his US Visa and had been declared clean of drugs after psychological and drug tests were carried out on him. He would have to have been clean for a while leading up to his death for those results to be given, so why would he suddenly go off the rails and take drugs? Why would he have booked escorts using his own name, yet not speak the language of the escorts? Who procured the drugs and why did the person who booked the escorts tell them that Liam was a millionaire and would pay them, yet apparently Liam didn’t want to so Roger paid them?

Further to all of this there have been no toxicology results released to the press or the public, yet misinformation was shared globally via the media that Liam had been found with pink cocaine in his system. How can the media know that if the results haven’t been released at all? Another question to add to the list is where is Liam’s Rolex watch? Why didn’t he have that on when he fell? Where is it now?

Why did the hotel claim CCTV wasn’t working? Why did the eyewitness who saw Liam fall to his death laugh while talking about it, as though it was an amusing anecdote? Why would Liam, who apparently was happily in a relationship need escorts he couldn’t communicate with? Why wasn’t the hotel investigated earlier? Why did the hotel claim there had been a break-in, in the days following Liam’s passing?

Lastly, I want you to ask yourself this: who benefits the most from Liam’s death? Artists are often worth more dead than alive and record labels can and do take life insurance policies out on their clients? More people stream an artist’s music after their passing and will buy posthumous albums to show support and love to their artist, so again, who benefits from this? Who owns the masters to the music Liam created? Was Liam a victim of prolonged abuse by a system set up to eventually cost him his life?

His parents, siblings, friends and our boys deserve answers to these questions and if you aren’t seeing the inconsistencies then you clearly aren’t looking or listening. The music industry is dark and preys on the dreams of young men and women, selling them a dream of fame and fortune, when in fact they are overworked, exploited and mismanaged. No one is safe and the bigger you are the tighter their grip on you.

It’s time for change and we, as fans, will always fight to change this industry, to show the public that there are real monsters out there, sitting in glass offices and exploiting and abusing people for money.

Further, Liam, this is a promise to you. I’m sorry we couldn’t save you. We tried with everything we had, but we will fight. Our fandom, your fandom, has come together and we will keep fighting to get justice for you and to clear your name. Further, there is a petition for a law in Liam’s name to change the industry and to ask for parliament to look at the laws surrounding the entertainment industry. More needs done to protect artists and it’s beyond time those changes were put in place.

To Geoff, Karen, Ruth and Nicola, to Niall, Zayn, Louis and Harry, to Liam’s friends, to his fans and to all who loved him, we will fight for justice because we can and we loved Liam immensely. He was a soul that was too pure and too good for this world and we will make sure that you all get the justice that you deserve. Our love and thoughts are with you all at this time.

Thanks for reading

Thank you so much for this! Another weird thing is why there wasn't anyone around the pool area that time.
